Spiritual Focus 2026

In 2026, GC3 embarks on a transformative journey centered around the theme of "Capacity.” This year, our focus is on expanding both individual and communal potential, encouraging members to stretch beyond their current limits and embrace the abundant possibilities that faith offers. This year we will explore how widening our capacity can lead us to deeper relationships with God, greater service to our community, and a more profound journey of faith.

Throughout the year, GC3 will implement several initiatives aimed at personal growth and congregational health. Workshops, small groups, and outreach programs will invite members to assess their gifts and talents, encouraging them to step out of their comfort zones and take on new challenges. We will focus on building a culture of support, celebration, and accountability, helping one another as we pursue larger ambitions.

Our collective mission will be to create an environment where everyone feels empowered to contribute to the church's vision, fostering a spirit of unity and collaboration. By challenging ourselves to create more room for love, service, and compassion, we aim to cultivate a thriving community that not only grows in numbers but also in faith and fellowship.

"Capacity" will serve as a guiding light throughout the year, prompting us to ask ourselves: How can we expand our hearts to love more? How can we develop our skills to serve more effectively? And ultimately, how can we work as a church to reflect God's glory in our community and beyond? Together, let's embrace this journey towards greater potential and purpose, transforming the way we do and be in 2026.

Church History

1999: Leaving Las Vegas

Pastor Kelly Richards responded to the call of God to start a new work. Grace Cathedral Community Church was officially chartered in the State of Nevada on September 20, 1999. In January of 2000, GCCC became a 501© 3 nonprofit organization. GCCC held its Sunday services in a merged service with Antisepsis Full Gospel Ministries. Pastor Kelly and Lady Andrea prayed earnestly about the call to move GCCC to the Flint area. Pastor Kelly and Lady Andrea believed that God directed them to leave Las Vegas and begin a ministry directed at their friends and family. Pastor Kelly and Lady Andrea made phone calls back to Michigan preparing family and friends for the new work in Flint.  God showed He was awesome to this young ministry. God opened doors for the pastors to secure employment before they left Las Vegas.

2004: The Charter Service

Pastor Kelly held a meeting with about 10 like-minded people who wanted to participate in this new church start.  Pastor Recco Richardson and family, Percy Richards and family, Charles Banks and family, and others were interested in participating in this new work.  Pastor Kelly changed all the official church paperwork over to the State of Michigan. The first official Flint service was held in March of 2004 with a message entitled, “How to Love Your Family”.

March of 2005: Supernatural Increase

The church began to experience a supernatural increase in its membership and doubled in size.  Located in an area where people were moving away, GCCC beat the odds and continued to grow.

August of 2005: Vision

The leaders of the GCCC embarked on a spiritual journey to develop a strategic vision for the church to follow through 2007.  The goal was for the church to evangelize the community and be strengthened financially.

January of 2006: Growth

The ministries at GCCC experienced profound growth in the number of members volunteering for ministry.  The members found areas in the church where they could help and freely share their gifts.

2007: Togetherness

It was decided that it was time to purchase a building. The members rallied together to develop a plan to raise money to buy a permanent church home.  During a time of prayer, fasting, and togetherness, The Journey of Faith Capital Stewardship Campaign was developed in an effort to raise funds to purchase a building.

June of 2008: New Church Home

GCCC was blessed to have found a building at 1709 Nebraska Ave. in Flint, MI.

March of 2009: Grace & Favor

GCCC embarked on The Journey of Faith to pay off the new church home. Our goal was to pay off the building by 2011. Although we did not reach that goal, God gave us much favor and we received an extension to pay off our building. God has continued to show us much grace and favor.

Rebirth.

2020 - Challenges

COVID impacted the trajectory of churches globally, including Grace Cathedral Community Church. Due to the uncertainty of the pandemic, parking lot services were held as a safety precaution. Pastor Kelly Richards accepted a career opportunity out of state during this time. A flock in need of a shepherd caused membership to decline tremendously. But God had a plan that would take Grace Cathedral Community Church to higher heights.

February 2023 - Keeping Ministry Alive

In February 2023, Rev. Adrian was asked to preach at Grace Cathedral Community Church. With the love and support of family and friends, Rev. Adrian Davis continued his assignment of preaching God’s Word for consecutive weeks. Rev. Adrian Davis, along with his wife Gabby, and son, Calvyn, were overwhelmed by the embrace of the church membership.

March 2023 - Divine Alignment

Rev. Adrian Davis accepted the call to lead God’s people at Grace Cathedral Community Church. His assignment to become a pastor was divinely confirmed. After occasional conversations with Pastor Kelly, an outpour of wisdom and insight was shared and received. Pastor Kelly was delighted to pass the torch to Pastor Adrian due to His genuine heart for God and His people. Pastor Adrian leads with integrity, character, and grace.
